FULL WEEKNIGHT CLOSURES OFWESTBOUND 91December 2 – 18, 2024January 6 – 22, 2025
The Riverside County Transportation Commission’s 71/91 Interchange Project will require nightly full closures (Monday – Wednesday) of westbound 91 between the 71 and Green River Rd. in Corona beginning Monday, December 2, 2024. Closures are scheduled through Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
Due to the holidays, no closures will be scheduled from December 20 through January 1, 2025. The westbound 91 full nightly closure are anticipated to restart on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The westbound 91 full closures will allow crews to safely continue removing support structures from the newly constructed sections of the new connector over westbound 91 lanes. Crews will be removing more than 40 beams that span above the westbound 91 lanes, requiring precision and time.

Closure dates are subject to change due to weather, site conditions, construction progress, and other factors.
Detour Routes
To avoid lengthy traffic delays, motorists are highly advised to avoid the westbound 91 by using the northbound 71 to westbound 60 to southbound 57 to get around the closure. Fire, police, and ambulance services will have access for emergency response.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission, in partnership with Caltrans, is reconstructing the 71/91 interchange in Corona.
The new non-tolled interchange is designed to improve safety, expand access to other modes of travel, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance traffic flow, and support continued movement of native wildlife through the area. Construction will take place from early 2023 to 2025.

Detour Map
12/19/2023 UPDATE: The southbound 71 to eastbound 91 connector is closed to clean up dirt and gravel. The connector will be closed until approximately 4:30 pm. Use westbound 91 to Green River Road to reenter the eastbound 91.
