FULL WEEKNIGHT CLOSURES OFSOUTHBOUND 71March 3 - 28, 2025
Weeknight full closures (Monday – Friday) of southbound 71 at Butterfield Ranch Rd/Euclid Ave to the 91 are scheduled Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 28, 2025. The southbound 71 to eastbound and westbound 91 connectors will also be closed.
The closures are scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Thursday nights, and midnight to 6 a.m. on Friday nights. The closures allow crews to safely remove support structures from the recently constructed sections of the new connector above southbound 71. Additional nighttime lane reductions along eastbound and westbound 91 may also occur during these nightly closures.

Closure dates are subject to change due to weather, site conditions, construction progress, and other factors.
DETOUR ROUTES
Motorists traveling on southbound 71 will be rerouted to the Butterfield Ranch Rd/Euclid Ave off-ramp in Chino Hills. Traffic will be detoured northbound along Euclid Ave to either eastbound or westbound 60, where motorists can travel to southbound I-15 or southbound 57. Motorists are highly encouraged to avoid using southbound 71 and use southbound 57 or southbound I-15 to reach the 91 and other destinations.
Fire, police, and ambulance services will have access for emergency response.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission, in partnership with Caltrans, is reconstructing the 71/91 interchange in Corona.
The new non-tolled interchange is designed to improve safety, expand access to other modes of travel, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, enhance traffic flow, and support continued movement of native wildlife through the area. Construction will take place from early 2023 to 2025.

12/19/2023 UPDATE: The southbound 71 to eastbound 91 connector is closed to clean up dirt and gravel. The connector will be closed until approximately 4:30 pm. Use westbound 91 to Green River Road to reenter the eastbound 91 .
